A plus idea refers to those ideas identified as having greater potential that have emerged from the generation of ideas in Phase 2. Very numerous ideas are usually generated in the divergent phase of a creativity workshop (100 ideas). Considering all the ideas can be very difficult and not very efficient. Ideas are therefore usually initially classified according to their potential and identified as plus, minus or interesting ideas (PMI).
Although all ideas should be properly recorded, more intense focus and greater attention are assigned to plus ideas for subsequent development in phase 3.
If no plus idea is identified or if later they do not have sufficient potential to be developed, a step backward can be taken and an attempt can be made to turn interesting ideas into plus ideas through their combination with other ideas from the session, etc.
